This disables a single path through one HBA to a disk in IBM AIX. This instructs the system to start using an alternative path to the disk.
# chpath -l hdisk# -p fscsi# -s disable
Example:

I have 3 VMware servers running a version of RH4. Only one port on the dual-port HBA is connected to the SAN switches so it keeps sending alarmas to the management software. How do I disable the port that has no fiber connection so it doesn't report to the managemente server?
